Custom metrics
Define your own formula columns such as net EPC or approval rate and use them in any network report, its totals and saved views.

Custom metrics are named formulas over the built-in counters, for example (revenue - payout) / clicks. The report
engine computes them from the aggregated numbers of each row — and of the totals row — so they are always consistent
with the other columns.
Create a custom metric#
-
Open Reporting → Custom metrics (
/app/reports/metrics; search "Custom metrics" with Cmd-K). -
Click New metric.
-
Fill in:
-
While typing, the form shows an Example value computed for 1,000 clicks, 40 conversions, 600 revenue and 400 payout, or the parse error.
-
Save. The metric appears in the Metrics picker of the report builder under Custom formulas.
A workspace can have up to 50 custom metrics. Any staff member can create, edit and delete them (permission to save reports). Deleting a metric is safe: saved views that use it simply stop showing it.
Formula grammar#
-
Numbers:
100,0.5,.25 -
Operators:
+,-,*,/, unary minus, and parentheses( ) -
Metrics (the base counters only):
impressions,clicks,unique_clicks,bot_clicks,conversions,pending_conversions,rejected_conversions,revenue,payout,profit,sale_amount
Ratios such as cvr, epc or margin cannot be referenced; write them out instead (for example
conversions / unique_clicks). Anything else — other names, functions, commas — is refused.
Division by zero gives an empty cell (—) for that row instead of an error.
Examples#
Percent format multiplies the result by 100 for display, so a ratio formula (a / b) is what you want — do not
multiply by 100 yourself.
Use custom metrics in reports#
- In Reporting → Reports, open Metrics.
- Tick the custom metrics under Custom formulas (up to 10 per view).
- They are computed for every row and the totals row, sort like other columns and are saved with saved views.
Money custom metrics use the report's money currency, like revenue and payout.
Limits#
- Network reports only. Partner and advertiser portals and partner/advertiser API keys do not see custom metrics.
- Not compared in period comparison and not usable as metric filters (Rows) or in KPI alerts.
- Not part of the call shown under API request.
- Changing a formula changes every view that uses it from then on; there is no version history beyond the audit log.
