One redirect, to exactly the address in the link's url parameter — or an error page if the account has not approved that address. Nothing in the platform can change this.
This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") sets out what the TrackCrown Service — including our tracking domains and links, the web application, portals, APIs and landing-page script — may and may not be used for. It applies to every customer and to everyone who uses the Service under a customer's account, including partners (affiliates) and advertisers. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Capitalised terms have the meanings given there.
1. How transparent links protect users#
Links that carry a destination in a url parameter — the format used in Google Ads tracking templates — redirect only to that exact address, after expanding the customer's macros and, if enabled, adding our click ID. If the address is not on the customer's list of approved destinations, our server shows an error page instead of redirecting. No setting changes this, and the destination never depends on the visitor's location, device, network or whether the visitor looks like an ad reviewer or a bot. Fraud signals are recorded for reporting only.
2. Deceptive destinations and cloaking#
You must not:
- cloak, mask or disguise the destination of an ad or link, or show advertising-platform reviewers, crawlers or automated checks different content from what users see;
- use targeting rules, smart-link rotation, fallback addresses or any other setting to send reviewers, crawlers or users in particular locations, networks or devices to a different destination in a way that circumvents an advertising platform's review or policies;
- use transparent links in Google Ads, or anywhere transparent tracking is required, with a destination that differs from the ad's approved final URL, or change the content of a destination after approval to evade review;
- chain our links through unspecified intermediate redirects, URL shorteners or trackers that are not disclosed or not certified where an advertising platform requires certification;
- use a tracking link as an open redirect to destinations the account has not approved.
3. Harmful, illegal and misleading content#
You must not use the Service to promote or send people to:
- malware, spyware, unwanted software or deceptive downloads;
- phishing, credential harvesting, or pages that impersonate another company, government body or person;
- scams, including fake technical support, fake prizes, fraudulent investment or financial schemes, and subscription traps that hide the price or recurring billing;
- products or services that are illegal where they are offered, including illegal drugs, unlicensed gambling, counterfeit goods and unapproved or prescription-only medicines sold without the required authorisation;
- misleading advertising, including false or unsubstantiated claims, fabricated endorsements, reviews or news articles, and hidden material terms;
- content that sexually exploits minors, promotes violence or terrorism, or harasses or incites hatred against people;
- content that infringes others' intellectual property or privacy rights.
4. Fraud and invalid traffic#
You must not generate, buy or pass through fraudulent or invalid traffic or conversions — including bot or automated clicks, click injection or click spamming, cookie stuffing, incentivised or forced clicks where the advertiser or platform prohibits them, faked or manipulated postbacks, or misattribution of conversions to the wrong partner — or use the Service to launder such traffic or to defraud advertisers, partners or advertising platforms.
5. Spam and unsolicited messages#
You must not use tracking links or tracking domains in unsolicited bulk e-mail, SMS, messaging, social-media or comment spam, or in messages that breach anti-spam laws such as the US CAN-SPAM Act and Telephone Consumer Protection Act or the EU and UK e-privacy rules.
6. Tracking domains#
You must only connect domains you control and are entitled to use, and you must not use our tracking domains to host content, to impersonate other brands (for example with look-alike domain names), or for any purpose other than legitimate measurement of your campaigns.
7. Privacy and data#
You must give the notices and obtain the consents the law requires for tracking on your campaigns and websites. You must not put special categories of personal data, government identification numbers, financial account numbers, or names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers or other direct identifiers in clear text into link parameters, sub IDs or postbacks, and you must not use the Service to track children in breach of laws such as the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
8. Security and fair use of the Service#
You must not: probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, except to report a vulnerability as described on our Security page; bypass authentication, access controls, rate limits or usage limits; access other customers' data; scrape the panel, portals or documentation by automated means instead of using the API; send traffic designed to overload the Service, or load-test it without our written permission; share account credentials; or interfere with other customers' use of the Service.
9. Advertising platform policies#
You must comply with the policies of every advertising platform you use, including the Google Ads policies on destination requirements, misrepresentation, unwanted software, circumventing systems and tracking templates, and the corresponding policies of Meta, Microsoft Advertising and TikTok. A link that this Policy allows may still be refused by a platform.
10. Your partners and advertisers#
You are responsible for the use of the Service by the partners and advertisers you invite and for the offers and destinations you allow them to promote. You must remove their access promptly if they breach this Policy.
11. Reporting abuse#
Anyone can report a tracking link or domain that leads to harmful or deceptive content through our abuse report page. Please include the full link, when and where you saw it, and what happened.
12. Investigation and enforcement#
We do not routinely monitor customers' campaigns, but we investigate abuse reports and signals we detect, and we may review the relevant account configuration and tracking data to do so. Depending on the severity, we may:
- ask the customer to fix the problem within a set period;
- remove a destination from the account's approved destinations, so that links pointing to it show an error page instead of redirecting;
- disable individual links, offers, partner or advertiser access, or a tracking domain;
- suspend the account, or terminate it under our Terms of Service;
- report the matter to the affected advertising platform or to the authorities, where the law requires it or we consider it appropriate.
We act without prior notice where there is ongoing harm to users — for example phishing, malware or content that sexually exploits minors — and otherwise normally notify the customer first. Disabling a link never redirects users to a different destination; they see an error page instead.
13. Appeals#
If you believe we acted in error, reply to our notice or contact us using support@trackcrown.com with the details. We will review the decision and tell you the outcome.
14. Changes#
We may update this Policy to address new forms of abuse or changes in the law or platform policies. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
