Advertiser sign-up and advertiser partner pages

Let advertisers apply through a public form, review and activate them, and give an advertiser its own partner application page with program terms.

Two public forms involve advertisers: the advertiser application form, where a company applies to advertise on your network, and an advertiser partner page, where partners apply specifically to one advertiser's program.

Advertiser application form#

Open or close it#

Partners → Partner program → Sign-up form → Advertiser applications controls the form at:

Text
https://app.trackcrown.com/join/<workspace-slug>/advertiser

It is on by default. The partner application form links to it ("Advertiser? Apply as an advertiser"). The workspace's CAPTCHA on the application form setting applies here too.

What the applicant enters#

FieldRequired
CompanyYes
WebsiteNo
Country codeNo
PhoneNo
What would you like to promote? No — "Products, target geos, conversion type and budget"
Your nameYes
Work e-mailYes
PasswordYes, at least 10 characters
Terms checkboxYes

The submit button is Apply as an advertiser. At most 5 applications per hour come from one network (IP). As with partners, an existing account must enter its own password, and existing members are asked to sign in.

What happens#

  1. An advertiser is created with status Inactive and the application date set. The answer to "What would you like to promote?" is saved in its notes as "Application: …".
  2. A portal user with the advertiser role is created and the terms acceptance is logged.
  3. Staff get the notification "New advertiser application: <company>", linking to the advertiser.
  4. The applicant is signed in and sees the pending screen until you activate the account.

Review and activate#

  1. Open Offers → Advertisers. When applications are waiting you see "N advertiser applications waiting for review" with a link to the Inactive list.
  2. Open the advertiser, check the details and notes.
  3. Open the More actions menu (⋯) → Status → Set active.

The advertiser can then sign in to the portal. They are not e-mailed when you activate them, so let them know. To decline, leave the account inactive or delete it.

Advertiser partner pages#

An advertiser partner page is a dedicated partner application form for one advertiser's program, with its own headline, terms and offers. Partners who apply there join your workspace like any partner, and the advertiser's offers are requested for them.

Set it up#

  1. Open the advertiser and select the Accounts & deals tab.
  2. In Partner sign-up page, switch the page on.
  3. Enter the Address — 2–48 lower-case letters, digits or dashes, unique in the workspace, e.g. acme-shop.
  4. Optionally enter a Headline, e.g. "Join the Acme affiliate program" (default: "<advertiser> partner program").
  5. Choose Offers requested at sign-up (offers of this advertiser).
  6. Optionally write Program terms in Markdown. Publishing changed terms bumps the version (1, 2, 3 …).
  7. Save. The Sign-up page link appears:
Text
https://app.trackcrown.com/join/<workspace-slug>/a/<address>

The terms are public at /join/<workspace-slug>/a/<address>/terms. The page only works while the advertiser is Active and the page is switched on; otherwise the address returns a 404 page, and a form that was already open is refused with "This sign-up page is no longer available." While the workspace's Accept partner applications switch is off (Close applications), the page says the network is not accepting partner applications and refuses sign-ups. Manager links work here too: append ?mgr=<user id>.

What applicants get#

  • The same form as the main partner application (standard fields, your custom questions, CAPTCHA).
  • The terms checkbox links to "<advertiser> program terms" when the page has terms; the acceptance is logged with the version adv-<advertiser id>:<version>. Without program terms it links to the brand's terms.
  • The partner's sign-up source is recorded as this advertiser, shown on the partner's page.
  • Each still-active offer from Offers requested at sign-up is recorded as a pending access request with the note "Requested at sign-up".
  • When the workspace approves new partners automatically (Approve new partners automatically), these requests are approved together with the partner — right away, or once the partner confirms their e-mail when verification is required. Otherwise they stay pending: approve them in Partners → Applications → Offer access requests (approving the partner does not approve them).
