Currencies and exchange rates
How offer, workspace and partner currencies work, how postbacks in another currency are converted at ECB rates, and how reports and statements keep currencies apart.

TrackCrown never adds amounts of different currencies together. Every offer has its own currency, every conversion stores the currency of its money, reports show one money currency at a time and invoices and payout statements are created per currency.
The currencies in play#
Conversions in another currency#
When a postback, pixel or SDK conversion carries currency= with a different ISO code than the offer's currency (or
the workspace currency for offers without one), the conversion engine converts the sale amount, revenue and
payout parameters to the offer currency before payout and revenue are calculated:
https://trackcrown.com/pb? click_id=… &event=sale &amount=89.90 ¤cy=EUR &token=…For a USD offer, amount=89.90 becomes a USD sale amount at the rate of the conversion date, and a
percentage payout is computed from the USD amount.
The original values are kept on the conversion's parameters: original_amount, original_currency, fx_rate and
fx_date.
Exchange rates#
- Source: the European Central Bank reference rates (base EUR). The worker downloads the daily feed every 6 hours; on a fresh installation it first loads the last 90 days.
- Conversion:
amount_to = amount_from ÷ rate(EUR→from) × rate(EUR→to), using the latest rate published on or before the conversion date, exact decimal arithmetic. - A rate older than 7 days is not used. Without a usable rate nothing is converted: the amounts stay as sent and the
currency is recorded as
sale_currencyon the conversion.
See the rates#
Open Settings → Currencies (/app/settings/currencies):
- Multi-currency conversions explains the behaviour and shows how many currencies are loaded and the date of the latest rates ("source: ECB, refreshed every 6 hours by the worker"). "No exchange rates yet" means the worker has not loaded any — conversions in other currencies then keep their amounts unconverted.
- Rates for 1 USD (your workspace currency) lists cross rates through the euro, exactly as the engine computes them.
Reports#
A report shows money in one currency: the workspace currency by default. Only conversions and click/impression money in that currency are included. When other currencies have money in the period the report says "Money is shown in USD" and offers Show EUR etc. Counts include every currency.
Ad costs#
Imported ad costs are the exception: they are converted, with the same rates and the same rule (latest ECB rate on or before the cost date, at most 7 days old).
- Integrations → Ad costs & ROAS shows every amount in the workspace currency: costs at the rate of the cost date, the revenue and payout they are compared with at the rate of the conversion date.
- In reports, Ad cost (and so ROAS and Net profit) is converted to the report currency.
- Amounts without a usable rate are left out and their currency is named (in the API:
other_currencies).
See Ad costs & ROAS.
Invoices and payouts#
- One invoice per advertiser and currency; one payout statement per partner and currency.
- A partner's Minimum payout applies only to statements in their payout currency.
- Accounting exports and PDFs carry the document currency.
Choosing currencies#
- Price offers in the currency the advertiser pays you in; their invoice will be in that currency.
- If partners must be paid in another currency, keep the offer currency and convert when paying (for example through PayPal or your bank). TrackCrown does not convert statements.
- Use
currency=on postbacks when the advertiser's shop sells in several currencies, so percentage commissions are computed on comparable amounts.
