Parent and child advertisers

Group an advertiser's brands under one parent account so its portal users see every brand's offers and conversions, and pre-fill new offers with a destination URL template.

Some advertisers run several brands or regional accounts. In TrackCrown each brand can be its own advertiser record — with its own offers, postback token, invoices and billing terms — and still be grouped under one parent advertiser so the parent's people can follow all of them in one portal login.

How the hierarchy works#

  • There is one level: an advertiser is either a top-level account (possibly a parent) or a child of one parent.
  • A child cannot have children; an advertiser that already has child accounts cannot become a child itself.
  • An advertiser cannot be its own parent; the parent must be in the same workspace and be top-level.

Make an advertiser a child account#

  1. Open Offers → Advertisers and click the advertiser that should become the child.
  2. Select the Accounts & deals tab.
  3. In Account & destination template, choose the Parent account. The list only offers top-level advertisers. Choose "No parent (top-level account)" to detach it again.
  4. Click Save.

On the parent's Accounts & deals tab the Child accounts are listed with links. The change is audited as advertiser.network with the previous and new parent.

What the parent's portal users see#

Portal areaParent users see
Offers list and offer detailsOwn offers and every child account's offers
ConversionsOwn conversions and every child account's conversions
DashboardOwn data only
ReportsOwn data only
Integration, Postback logOwn offers and token only
Invoices, DocumentsOwn only
API key (REST API)Own data only

Rejecting conversions from the portal (when allowed) works only on the parent's own conversions, even though child conversions are listed.

Child accounts keep their own users, who see only their own data. Billing is unchanged: every advertiser — parent or child — is invoiced separately with its own billing terms.

Destination URL template#

The same section holds the Destination URL template, for example:

Text
https://shop.example.com/?aff={aff_id}&cid={click_id}
  • It must be a full http:// or https:// URL once the {macros} are replaced, at most 4,096 characters.
  • When you create an offer for this advertiser (Offers → New offer) and leave the destination URL empty, the wizard pre-fills it with the template when you continue from the first step.
  • Macros such as {click_id}, {aff_id} and {sub1} are expanded at click time — see Macros.

Changing the template does not change existing offers.
