Revenue is what the advertiser pays you; payout is what you pay the partner; profit is revenue minus payout. Both are set per offer on the Revenue & payout tab (and in step 3 of New offer), per event on the Events tab, and per partner on the Overrides tab. Amounts are stored with 4 decimals in the offer's currency.

Revenue types#

TypeLabel in the panelRevenue of a conversion
rpaRevenue per action (RPA)The fixed amount.
rpsRevenue per sale (RPS, %)Percent × sale amount (amount=) ÷ 100.
dynamicDynamicThe postback's revenue=, else amount=, else 0.
rpcRevenue per click (RPC)0 — revenue is credited per unique click instead.
rpmRevenue per 1,000 impressions (RPM)0 — revenue is credited per 1,000 impressions instead.
rpa_rpsHybrid: fixed + % of saleFixed amount + Revenue % of sale × sale amount.

Payout types#

TypeLabel in the panelPayout of a conversion
cpaCost per action (CPA)The fixed amount.
cpsCost per sale (CPS, %)Percent × sale amount ÷ 100.
cpcCost per click (CPC)0 — payout is credited per unique click instead.
cpmCost per 1,000 impressions (CPM)0 — payout is credited per 1,000 impressions instead.
cpa_cpsHybrid: fixed + % of saleFixed amount + Payout % of sale × sale amount.

Percentages for RPS and CPS must be between 0 and 100. Events support RPA, RPS and Dynamic revenue and CPA and CPS payout; the click, impression and hybrid types exist at offer level only.

Examples#

Offer: revenue RPS 10 %, payout CPS 6 %. The advertiser posts amount=200:

CalculationResult
Revenue10 % × 20020.00
Payout6 % × 20012.00
Profit20.00 − 12.008.00

Hybrid payout: CPA+CPS with payout 5.00 and Payout % of sale 2 %. A sale with amount=300 pays 5.00 + 2 % × 300 = 11.00.

The Example conversion box on the form computes this live; enter a Sale amount to test percentage types.

Click-based offers (CPC / RPC)#

  • Payout (CPC) or revenue (RPC) is credited per billable unique click: a unique click that was redirected to the offer, is not a bot, has no status reason (not capped, not off-target…) and is not a compliance test.
  • Reports, partner and advertiser portals, invoices and payout statements all use these clicks multiplied by the offer's current rate. Changing the rate therefore changes past periods too.
  • Conversions on such offers are still recorded (for CR and events), but carry no payout (CPC) or no revenue (RPC).
  • Affiliate overrides cannot change the payout of a CPC offer or the revenue of an RPC offer; per-partner CPC rates are not supported.

Impression-based offers (CPM / RPM)#

Reports credit impressions from the /i/ pixel × rate ÷ 1,000. Conversions carry no money on that side.

Hybrid offers (CPA+CPS / RPA+RPS)#

  1. Choose Hybrid: fixed + % of sale as payout and/or revenue type and enter the fixed part.
  2. Open the Advanced tab. Under Hybrid commission, set Payout % of sale and/or Revenue % of sale (0–1000) and click Save settings.

The percentage is added on the default event only, and not when an affiliate override replaced the payout.

Overriding money from the postback#

payout=Replaces the resolved payoutWorkspace token only

Explicit revenue= / payout= values are never changed by payout rules or commission tiers.

Currency#

Each offer has one currency. A postback with currency= in a different currency is converted with the ECB daily reference rate at conversion time; the original amount, currency and rate are kept on the conversion. Reports show money per currency. Settings → Currencies explains the handling and lists the daily rates in use (rates are fetched automatically).

Order of resolution#

  1. Overrides → event → offer (see Events & goals).
  2. The type formula above.
  3. Postback payout= / revenue= overrides.
  4. Hybrid percentage (default event).
  5. Custom payout rules (highest priority, then most specific).
  6. Commission tiers.
