Report assistant (AI)

Ask questions about your tracking data in plain language; the assistant reads reports, offers, partners, conversions and clicks with read-only access.

On this page

The Assistant (/app/assistant, under Reporting) answers questions such as "Which offers earned the most revenue in the last 7 days?" by running the same read-only queries you could run yourself, then summarising the result. It never changes anything.

Requirements#

  • The platform operator has set ANTHROPIC_API_KEY for the panel. Without it the page shows Not configured: "Set ANTHROPIC_API_KEY for the panel to enable the assistant."
  • You are a staff member with report access (analyst and above).

The assistant is powered by Anthropic's Claude. Anthropic is listed as an optional sub-processor: it receives the questions you ask and the workspace data the assistant reads to answer them.

Ask a question#

  1. Open Reporting → Assistant.
  2. Type into "Ask a question about your data…" or click a suggestion:
    • "Which offers earned the most revenue in the last 7 days?"
    • "Compare clicks and conversions by country yesterday."
    • "Show my top 5 partners by profit this month."
    • "Find the click for gclid …"
  3. Send. While it works the page shows "Looking at your data…". The answer appears in the conversation; ask follow-up questions in the same thread.

What it can read#

The assistant uses the same read-only tools as the MCP endpoint for AI agents (/api/mcp):

ToolReads
run_reportThe report engine — any dimensions, filters, metrics and date range (or a preset such as last7).
list_offers, get_offerOffers and one offer with its events.
list_affiliates, get_affiliatePartners (staff only).
list_conversions, get_conversionConversions in a time range (filters: status, event, click ID, transaction ID) and one conversion.
lookup_clicksClicks by click ID or Google click ID.
tracking_linkBuilds a tracking link for an offer and partner.

It runs with the permissions of an analyst API key of your workspace: staff never get more through the assistant than an analyst could see, and nothing can be created, changed or deleted.

Limits#

LimitValue
Questions per user30 per hour
Conversation length20 messages, each up to 4,000 characters
Tool calls per answerUp to 6 rounds
Data per tool resultAbout 24,000 characters (larger results are cut, so ask narrower questions)

The conversation lives only in your browser tab. It is not stored on the server and is gone when you reload.

Tips for good answers#

  • Name the period: "yesterday", "last 7 days", "this month" or exact dates.
  • Name the breakdown: "by offer", "by partner and country", "by hour".
  • Name the metric the way the panel does: clicks, unique clicks, conversions, CVR, revenue, payout, profit, EPC.
  • For a single transaction, paste the click ID, conversion ID or gclid.
  • Check important numbers in the report builder — the assistant summarises the engine's figures but can misread a question.

Use the same tools from your own AI agent#

External agents (for example Claude Desktop or other MCP clients) can use the read-only MCP endpoint https://app.trackcrown.com/api/mcp with an API key. Partner and advertiser keys see only their own data there. See MCP server.
