Caps limit clicks, conversions or payout per day, week, month or lifetime — on an offer or for one partner on an offer. TrackCrown counts usage in real time in the same counters the edge and the conversion engine enforce. The Caps pacing page shows those counters; cap alerts notify you when a cap is about to run out.
Caps pacing page#
Open Reporting → Caps pacing (/app/reports/caps). Any staff member who can view offers can open it. Periods are
in the workspace time zone (shown in the page description).
KPI cards:
The table lists every cap of active offers and of approved partner access rows:
Below the table, Recent cap alerts lists the latest notifications, e.g. "Spring Sale · Partner A · daily conversions at 90 % (90 / 100)".
If the counter store cannot be reached the page shows "Cap counters are unavailable" and no usage.
What happens when a cap is reached#
Transparent links (url=) are never redirected elsewhere: a capped click still goes to the url= address and the
cap is only recorded as the click's status reason. Rejecting a conversion in review frees its slot again; approving
one takes a slot.
Cap alerts#
The worker checks every cap once a minute. When a counter reaches 90 % or 100 % of its limit, staff of the workspace get one in-app notification per cap, period and level, for example:
Cap reached: Spring Sale · Partner A daily conversions capThere is no second notification for the same cap, period and level — the next one comes in the next period.
Settings#
In Reporting → Automation → Overview → Automation settings:
Each user can mute Caps reached notifications under Automation → My notifications.
Set and change caps#
Caps are set on the offer's Caps tab (offer-wide) and per partner via Caps… on the offer's Affiliates tab or Partner caps… on the partner's Offers & access tab. To raise or lower caps at a set time — for example for a promotion weekend — use Scheduled changes.
Typical workflow#
- Each morning open Caps pacing, sort by Used and look at the rows at ≥ 90 %.
- Ask the advertiser for more volume, or move traffic to another offer before the cap stops it.
- For caps that reach 100 % every day early, consider an hourly cap to spread the volume.
