Payout overrides, conditional payouts & commission tiers

Pay partners differently — per-partner overrides, conditional payout rules by country/device/sub ID/time, and volume-based commission tiers.

Three tools change what a conversion pays, applied in this order:

  1. Payout overrides — a fixed deal for one partner (offer Overrides tab).
  2. Custom payout rules — conditional payout or revenue by country, device, OS, sub ID, weekday, hour or date (offer Custom payout rules tab).
  3. Commission tiers — a better rate once a partner's volume passes a threshold (same tab).

Explicit payout= / revenue= values on a postback are never changed by rules or tiers.

Payout overrides#

  1. Open the offer, tab Overrides, click Add override (sheet Add payout override).
  2. Fill in:
FieldNotes
AffiliateRequired. One override per affiliate and event.
EventAll events or one event. An event-specific override beats the all-events one.
Payout typeInherit, CPA or CPS.
PayoutAmount or %, empty = Inherit.
Revenue type / RevenueRarely needed: a different advertiser rate for this partner's traffic.
  1. Save. New conversions use it; existing conversions keep their amounts.

Type and amount inherit separately: an override can change only the amount and keep the event's type. Overrides cannot change the payout of a CPC offer or the revenue of an RPC offer.

The calculator at the top of the tab shows what a conversion pays "resolved exactly like the tracker: affiliate override for the event → affiliate override for all events → event". Pick an affiliate (or Any affiliate (no override)) and an event.

Custom payout rules#

A rule sets payout and/or revenue when its conditions match the click.

Create a rule#

  1. Open the offer, tab Custom payout rules, click Add rule (sheet Add payout rule).
  2. Fill in:
FieldNotes
NameOptional, e.g. "US mobile weekend bonus".
Priority−1000 to 1000. Higher wins; ties go to the most specific rule.
Applies toThis offer (optionally one Event) or Every offer (workspace-wide; shown on every offer).
EventAll events or one event of this offer.
StatusActive or Paused.
PartnersEmpty = every partner.
Payout type / PayoutFixed (CPA) or % of sale (CPS). Empty = keep the resolved payout.
Revenue type / RevenueFixed (RPA) or % of sale (RPS). Empty = keep the resolved revenue.
Starts / EndsOptional date and time window.
ConditionsCountries, Devices, Operating systems, Sub IDs / source, Day-parting (weekdays, hours, time zone).
  1. Save.

Conditions#

  • Countries: ISO codes of the click's country. Devices: desktop, mobile, tablet. Operating systems: as detected from the user agent.
  • Sub IDs / source: tests on sub1…sub5 or source_id with is, is not, contains, does not contain, begins with. Values are case-insensitive. "is", "contains" and "begins with" never match an empty value; "is not" and "does not contain" do.
  • Day-parting: weekdays (Mon–Sun) and hours (0–23) of the conversion time in the rule's time zone (default: workspace time zone). The rule's Starts / Ends window is also checked against the conversion time.

Every configured condition must hold. Country, device, OS and sub IDs come from the click, so conversions without a click (coupon or e-mail attribution) only match rules without those conditions.

Which rule wins#

  1. Highest Priority.
  2. Most specific: number of conditions (each list counts once, each sub-ID test counts once), plus one for an event and one for an offer scope.
  3. A rule limited to partners beats one for every partner.
  4. The newest rule.

The winning rule's ID is stored on the conversion (payout_rule_id). Use Conflict test on the tab — choose Partner, Event, Country, Device, OS and Conversion time — to see which rule wins and which others also match.

Commission tiers#

Tiers reward volume: e.g. "+1.00 per lead after 50 approved leads this month".

Create tiers#

  1. Offer tab Custom payout rules, section Commission tiers, click Add tiers (sheet Add commission tiers). Use Add tier for each threshold row.
  2. Fill in:
FieldOptions
NameOptional.
CountsThis offer, or All offers of the advertiser (offers with an advertiser only).
KPIApproved conversions, Revenue or Payout of the partner.
PeriodDay, Week (from Monday), Month or Quarter, in the workspace time zone.
TiersOne row per threshold: From (KPI value) and Payout + (adds to the resolved payout) or Payout = (replaces it).
PartnersEmpty = every partner.
RetroactiveStored and shown, but the tracker prices new conversions only. Earlier conversions of the period are not re-priced automatically.

How tiers are applied#

  • At each conversion the partner's KPI for the current period is read; the highest tier whose From is reached applies. The KPI counts approved conversions already recorded in the period (the conversion being priced is not included).
  • Only the first applicable tier set (lowest ID) prices a conversion.
  • The conversion records commission_tier_id.
  • Tiers do not apply to conversions without a partner or with an explicit payout=.

Example: tiers From 0 → Payout = 10.00, From 50 → Payout = 12.00, From 200 → Payout = 15.00, KPI approved conversions, period month. The partner's 51st approved lead of the month (50 already counted) pays 12.00.

  • Base terms: Revenue & payout types.
  • Change payouts on a date: Reporting → Automation → Scheduled changes ("Payout / revenue").
