Impression pixels (/i)
Count ad views with the /i 1×1 GIF pixel for CTR and CPM/RPM offers — format, what is recorded, and what impressions do not do.
Last updated 2 min read
The impression pixel counts how often a partner's ad or banner is shown. Impressions feed the Impressions and CTR report metrics and the money of CPM/RPM offers.
<img src="https://trackcrown.com/i/OFFERCODE/PARTNERCODE?sub1=banner-300x250" width="1" height="1" alt="">Get the pixel#
- Staff: offer → Tracking tab → Affiliate tracking link → choose the affiliate → copy Impression pixel (1×1 GIF). Sub IDs and source ID typed there are included.
- Partners: portal → offer → link builder → Impression pixel (optional).
Place it next to the ad that carries the partner's tracking link, so each view and each click are counted for the same offer, partner and sub IDs.
Format#
https://trackcrown.com/i/{offer_code}/{affiliate_code}? sub1=… &sub2=… &source_id=…The path uses public codes. Query parameters use the same names and aliases as click links
(Sub IDs & parameters), but an impression stores only sub1…sub5,
source_id, the traffic source, gclid and the ad campaign, ad group, ad, keyword and placement fields.
Response#
Always 200 with a 1×1 transparent GIF (Content-Type: image/gif, Cache-Control: no-store), whatever happens —
the ad never shows a broken image. HEAD is supported.
What is recorded#
An impression is stored when the offer code exists on this tracking domain and the workspace is active. It records the offer, partner (when the partner code is valid; otherwise none), sub IDs, source ID, traffic source, Google click ID and campaign fields, country, region, city, device, OS, browser, IP, user agent, referrer and the bot flag.
Unlike clicks, impressions are not checked against offer status, partner approval, targeting or caps, and they never redirect.
Reports#
Columns that exist only on clicks (sub6–sub10, extended ValueTrack fields, click mode) report as empty for
impressions.
Limits#
Not to be confused with#
/px.gif on the tracking domain is the conversion pixel (an alias of /px for placements that require a .gif
URL), not an impression pixel. See S2S postback.
