View as partner opens the partner portal signed in as one of the partner's users, so you can see precisely what they see — offers, links, reports, payouts, documents — without asking for screenshots. The session is strictly read-only and every start and end is written to the audit log.

Requirements#

  • Your role is manager, admin or owner (permission to change partners).
  • The partner has at least one active portal user. Invite one on the partner's Users tab if needed.
  • You are not already viewing another partner.

Start viewing#

  1. Open Partners → Affiliates and click the partner.
  2. In the page header click View as partner.
    • With one portal user the portal opens immediately.
    • With several, choose the user under View the portal as….
    • Without an active user the button is disabled with the hint "Invite a portal user first (Users tab)".
  3. The partner portal opens at /partner with a banner at the top: Viewing as <partner> · read-only, opened by <you>. Changes are disabled.

What you can and cannot do#

You canYou cannot
Open every portal page and switch date rangesSave the profile, payment details, tax form, postbacks or API keys
Run reports and open conversionsRequest offer access, accept offer or network terms, sign documents
Build tracking links in the link builder (nothing is stored)Upload or delete documents
Download exports the partner could downloadView as yourself, as a disabled user or as a platform administrator

Portal changes are refused with "You are viewing this portal as the partner — changes are disabled. Exit the view to make changes." The network-terms prompt is never shown during the session, because staff cannot accept terms for a partner.

Stop viewing#

Click Exit in the banner. TrackCrown ends the partner session, restores your own session and returns you to the partner's page (/app/affiliates/<id>). If your own session expired in the meantime you are sent to the sign-in page.

The partner session expires on its own after 1 hour.

How it works#

  • A new session is created for the partner's user and marked with your user ID as the impersonator.
  • Your staff session token is kept in a separate secure, HTTP-only cookie and put back on exit; your session is not signed out.
  • Two audit entries are written on the partner: affiliate.impersonate (with the user and expiry) and affiliate.impersonate_end. Filter Settings → Audit log by these actions to see who viewed which partner.
